Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Mark Farndale of Farndale Stables
Pam Saul
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Mark Farndale of Farndale Stables When you say Burbank California to most people, their first thoughts are of Hollywood and the home of mega-entertainment companies such as Disney and Warner Bros. What I also found nestled in the city is a dazzling equestrian facility by the name of the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, home of Mark Farndale and Farndale Stables. Mark took time out of his busy schedule to fill me in how he came to this place in his life. . . . More
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Stacy Pattison
Pam Saul
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Stacy Pattison The only way to find Stacy sitting still is to catch her when she's traveling from her home base of Gainesville, Virginia to an event or for training along the East Coast. I was lucky enough to do so this week. . . . More
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Sue Norman of Nehalem Valley Arabians
Pam Saul
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Sue Norman of Nehalem Valley Arabians Usually, when I talk to one of our members about doing a Spotlight article, they are just climbing off a horse. But not Sue Norman -- she had just finished saving a life! That's because Sue is a full-time Paramedic for the 911 system in Washington County, a suburb of Portland, Oregon. Sue had completed a 6-day shift, including the Memorial Day weekend, which she commented on as being, "Very busy." Sue is currently in the process of constructing her dream barn on her Nehalem Valley Arabian farm with her husband, Max and they also have the local feed store, Jewell Farm Supply on their farm. So how in the world did she get to this point in her life? . . . More
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Yasmin Emery-Brownlie of Blue Water Farms
Pam Saul
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Yasmin Emery-Brownlie of Blue Water Farms Recently, I was able to bridge the time zone divide and talked with Yasmin Emery-Brownlie of Rescue, California, northeast of Sacramento. Yasmin recently opened a new Hunter/Jumper full service training and sales facility at her Blue Water Farms. She is also a USHJA Certified Trainer and..oh yeah…an Emergency Medicine physician. To hear her tell the story, "I work as an Emergency Medicine physician so that I can afford to be with the horses!" So what path led Yasmin to all her accomplishments? . . . More
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Gina Duran of Topline Training
Pam Saul
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Gina Duran of Topline Training Just outside the historic town limits of Livermore, California and nestled within the surrounding wine country, is a bridle path along the vineyards that leads to the Greenville Equestrian Center, home of Gina Duran of Topline Dressage Training. So how did this USDF gold, silver, and bronze medalist and certified USDF dressage instructor make it to this point in her career? . . . More
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Teresa Beers of Peeper Ranch
Pam Saul
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Teresa Beers of Peeper Ranch Many times, the spotlight shines on the trainers and riders as they perform in the show ring in equestrian sports. And sometimes, the person that supports those in the limelight doesn't get the recognition they should for their role in helping in that journey. This is not the case for Teresa Beers of Peeper Ranch, which is the largest equestrian facility in the Kansas City area. Teresa may not be the one in the show ring, but her role is vital in this Saddle Seat riding facility. . . . More
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Lisa Kursinski
Pam Saul
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Lisa Kursinski Lisa Kursinski has gotten used to the statement, "Oh, you're Anne's sister," over the years, but it's not much of a problem when you have just as much skill, determination, and natural talent with horses as Lisa does. Yes, she is the younger sister of Anne Kursinski, but talent runs deep in this family and Lisa has much to be proud of in her own hunter/jumper equestrian career. . . . More
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Darren Finkelman
By Pam Saul
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Darren Finkelman The journey of an equestrian is not always a straight path. Darren's journey has taken him across the globe. From Long Island, New York where he was born and raised to many years of training with leading masters in Europe, where equestrian culture and tradition run deep. . . . More
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Denise Finch of Hunter's Edge Farm
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Denise Finch of Hunter's Edge Farm When you mention Las Vegas to most people, their first thought turns to casinos. But there is a decidedly equestrian flair in the southwest area off the 215 Freeway with Denise Finch and Hunter's Edge Farm. . . . More
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Dawn Jones-Low of Faerie Court Farm
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Dawn Jones-Low of Faerie Court Farm Dawn Jones-Low established Faerie Court Farm in 2001 for the purpose of breeding Arabian sport horses for adult and youth riders seeking athletic equine partners with pleasant temperaments in a handy size. A chance encounter with an Arabian mare in the late 1990's led Dawn to discover the old fashioned Arabian that was bred for hardiness and athleticism as well as for beauty. . . . More
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Maat van Uitert of Jotunheimens Staller
By Pam Saul
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Maat van Uitert of Jotunheimens Staller I sat at my kitchen counter recently with FEI dressage competitor Maat van Uitert. A piece of homemade pound cake and a Diet Pepsi got her to sit still long enough for us to chat! . . . More
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Helen Goddard of Team Goddard
by Pam Saul
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Helen Goddard of Team Goddard How does a child from non-horse parents know that she wants to do nothing else but ride by the time she is 11 years old? You plop her on a Shetland pony behind her sister, wearing her school uniform, and send her bobbing along the small town of Aldbrough on the coast of the North Sea in England. That was the start of a love affair with horses for Helen Goddard of Team Goddard. . . . More
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Linda Wanstreet of Lost World Farms and LWF Sport Horses
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Linda Wanstreet of Lost World Farms and LWF Sport Horses When youngest child, Melissa, graduated from high school, Linda Wanstreet was also at a changing point in her life. She had more time for the things she wanted to do. She was thinking about redecorating their home when her husband said "Why don't you go look for that horse farm you are always talking about?" He didn't have to say that twice! . . . More

Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight - Tammy Burgin of Farmore Farms
Pam Saul
Equestrian Professional Member Spotlight -
Tammy Burgin of Farmore Farms It all started many years ago with a "grade project pony" that needed some adjustment to his attitude. It was no surprise that the owner asked Tammy Burgin for help. Tammy's family, including grandparents, parents, and aunt, had always been involved with horses. What he couldn't have known was that request would be the beginning of a career that would include being awarded the title of Leading Pony Hunter Breeder and Owner for USEF in 2010. . . . More
